Earle L. Crosby, 92, a longtime Upton resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2018, in the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Westborough. He was the husband of almost 75 years to Sylvia R. (Prescott) Crosby.
Born October 23, 1925, in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Clifford and Grace (Haynes) Crosby. He was raised in Upton and attended Upton Schools before proudly serving his Country as a Corporal for the United States Marine Corps during WWII. Earle landed in Okinawa on Easter Sunday, April 1, 1945.
Earle was very active with the Upton VFW and served as a Deacon at the United Parish of Upton Church. He enjoyed golfing, camping and fishing. Earle was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He had a passion for antique cars, especially muscle cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, James Crosby and his wife Denise, of Uxbridge, Ronald Crosby and his wife Kathryn, of Westport, and Mary Ellen Parker and her husband Glenn, of Fort Myers, FL; 11 grandchildren, Lynn, James, Erin, Kelley, Michael, Darin, Heather, Guy, Carley, Jeff, and Amy; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his brother Clifford Crosby.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, at 11:00 AM in the United Parish of Upton Church, 1 Church Street, Upton. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Upton.
There are no calling hours.
