Dr. Tara Mezei

Dr. Tara Mezei, 90, of Millville and a former longtime Upton resident and respected psychologist, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, at the Cedarwood Gardens in Franklin. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Louis Mezei, who died in 1998.

She was born on May 26, 1934, in Toronto, Canada, and was raised in this vibrant city before pursuing her higher education.

Dr. Mezei’s academic journey began at the University of Toronto, where she laid the foundation for a brilliant career. She later earned her PhD at Wayne State University in Michigan, a proud accomplishment that marked the beginning of many years dedicated to her practice in psychology. Throughout her career, she made a significant impact in her field, advocating for mental health and helping numerous individuals navigate their challenges.

Dr. Mezei cherished time spent with her loved ones and enjoyed traveling. Her adventures took her to beautiful locales, including Hawaii, Israel, where she visited her great-niece, and the picturesque Coast of Mexico. These experiences enriched her life and allowed her to create lasting memories with family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Bradford of Millville, and I. Vickie Banks and of Milford. Dr. Mezei also leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her legacy. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews.

Dr. Tara Mezei was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Louis Mezei, as well as her siblings. Her life touched many, and she will be missed deeply by all who had the honor to know her.

A period of visitation will be held from 12 Noon to 1 PM on Thursday, January 16, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
