Dina Marie Arsenault, nee Breau, 90, of Douglas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, March 26, 2022. She married the late Alphee Arsenault in 1948 and they lived happily until his passing in 2014.
Born on Cocagne Island, Cocagne NB Canada on January 9, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Georges and the late Marie Anna (Hebert) Breau and lovingly raised by Alban and Adele (Breau) Cormier of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada.
Dina lived forty years of her life in Milford, Massachusetts. She retired from Waters Corp., was a parishioner and longtime choir member at St Mary of the Assumption in Milford. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, singing, and especially her family. Dina enjoyed her retirement years going back to New Brunswick, Canada and spending time with family and friends at her cottage on the Baie de Bouctouche.
She will be sadly missed by her six sons, Terrence (Ann-Marie Covino) of Eugene, Oregon; Bernard (Regina Early) of Dennis Port, Mass., Maurice (Barbara Jean Taylor) of Milford, Mass., Paul (Cora Mae Brown) of Worcester, Mass., Wayne (Lucie Parenteau) of Blackstone, Mass., Brian (Valerie Prebys) of Tallahassee, FL; her two daughters, Janice Watson (late Clifton) of Wells, Maine, Jocelyn Arsenault (Sue Hall) of Douglas, Mass.; her fifteen grandchildren; her eleven great-grandchildren; her sisters Florence Caissie (late Louis) of Dieppe, NB, Germaine Major (Claude) of FL., Anna Cormier (late Jean) of DE., and her brother Eloi Breau of Bouctouche, NB; also by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by three infant sons Edouard, Joseph and Erice; her brothers, Gerard Breau, Mederic Breau, Desire (Therese) Breau, Laurie Breau, Georges-Emile Breau, Hank Cormier, Yvon Cormier, Tim (Arline) Cormier, Antony Cormier; her sisters Florida Richard, Dorice LeBlanc, Germaine Breau, Yolanda LeClair, Zella O’Dell, Dorella Black, Cecilia Melanson.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31st, at 11 A.M. in St. Denis Church, 23 Manchaug St., Douglas. Burial will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe, New Brunswick, Canada, at a later date.
Calling hours at the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, are Wednesday, March 30th from 4 to 7 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory may be made to the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, Milford MA, or to the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
