Derek W. Voorhees, 82, of Upton, died at home on Monday, March 6, 2017 after an illness. His wife, Cecelia D. (Heere) Voorhees, died in 2003 after 44 years of marriage.
Mr. Voorhees was born in Albany, NY, a son of the late James and Mina (Wandall) Voorhees. He grew up in the Albany area and was a graduate of the former Morrisville Agricultural & Technical College, now Morrisville State College in NY. He served with the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959 and had a long career as a construction supervisor for Honeywell, traveling both nationally and internationally for his work. He came to Upton from New York in 1976 and was a frequent volunteer at the WWII military equipment display at the Collings Foundation Museum in Stow.
He leaves two sons, Richard Voorhees of Boca Raton, FL, and Charles Voorhees of Upton; and two grandsons, Edward Busiek of Acton and Connor Voorhees of Boca Raton. He was also the brother of the late James and Henry Voorhees.

Service Details
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton
at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017.
Burial in New York will be at the convenience of the family.
