Davis T. Cloward, 86, of Uxbridge, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in Sunbridge Hammond House in Worcester. He was the husband of Inez M. (Hanson) Gornall-Cloward and was a retired engineer.
Mr. Cloward was born in Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, a son of the late Davis J. and Nellie M. (Carranza) Cloward. He was a World War II Army veteran who served in New Guinea and had worked for Mass. Electric Co. for 46 years, retiring in 1997. He lived in Upton for many years before moving to Uxbridge in 1987. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Mendon and Uxbridge.
In addition to his wife of 20 years; he leaves two sons, Christopher D. Cloward of Mattapan and Thomas L. Cloward of No. Brookfield; a daughter, Elizabeth N. Rouhart of Southborough; one stepson, James Gornall of Uxbridge; a stepdaughter, Linda Gornall-Usher of Upton; three brothers, George L. Cloward of Inverness, FL, Robert E. Cloward of Tampa, FL, and John Harlan Cloward of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; a sister, Lydia R. Cloward-Heinzman of Maclean, VA; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. His first wife, Irene Nettie (Parmiter) Cloward, died in 1971 and he was also the brother of the late William H. Cloward.

Service Details
Following cremation, burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 20 at 2 p.m. in the Unitarian Universalist Church, 13 Maple Street, Mendon, MA.
