Daniel M. Smith, 49, of Malden, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 in his home. He worked for the past 29 years at Mass. General Hospital as a Master Sheet Metal Mechanic.
Mr. Smith was born in Stoughton, a son of the late Robert E. and Ann Louise (Wallace) Smith. He grew up in Easton and graduated from Oliver Ames High School, then continued his education training as a sheet metal mechanic and earned certifications in that field. As a young man, he loved MotorCross BMX and had been an avid video gamer his entire life. He was an avid Bruins and Patriots fan, a huge music enthusiast, played darts in many leagues, and enjoyed both disc golf and golf.
He leaves his two children, Lyndsay Oitker of No. Smithfield, RI, and Patrick Smith, with whom he lived in Malden; a brother, Robert T. Smith of Brockton; and two sisters, Janet Alberto of St. Marys, GA and Lynne Hemeon of Huntington Station, NY.
funeral services have been postponed until Wednesday, January 28 at 11 a.m.
in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home.
Calling hours at the funeral home are
Monday, January 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Following cremation, burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery
in Upton at the convenience of the family.
