Daniel R. Heney

Daniel R. Heney, 64, of Northbridge, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 16, 2012. He was the husband of Karen T. (White) Heney.
Born in Whitinsville, he was the son of the late Daniel F. and Lucille A. (Ouellette) Heney and was educated in Northbridge schools.
During the Vietnam Era he served with the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Summit County and the U.S.S. Estes, earning the National Defense Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars.
Mr. Heney was employed for many years as a welder for Morgan Construction Company in Worcester.
In his free time, Dan enjoyed caring for and loving his animals, many of which he had rescued from abandonment.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter, Stacy M. Carriker and her husband Matthew of Oskaloosa, Iowa; his sister, Lucille Healey of Northbridge; his brother, Kenneth Heney of Northbridge; two grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Carriker; and several nephews and nieces.
