Cynthia “Cindy” Ramsey was the most genuine, caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother “Gammy”, sister and friend. To know her was to love her. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 9th, 2022 at the age of 66. God could not wait to welcome her into a loving embrace.
Cindy was born in 1955 to the late Joseph and Claire Crestuk, of Natick, MA. In 1976, she married her soulmate and best friend, Walter Ramsey. They were married for 46 memorable years. Cindy is survived by her husband and four children along with their spouses: Jessica and Timothy Murphy of Upton; Sandra Ramsey and Jason Roberts of Mendon; Walter and Shannon Ramsey of Montague; Brent Ramsey and Tori Gemme of Washington D.C. Her crowning achievement, however, was the legacy she left behind in her own grandchildren: Timothy Jr., Orianna, Eleanor, Andrew and Alaurra.
Cindy’s greatest love was children. She was a beloved local school bus driver for a total of 31 years. She began as a driver in Upton in 1991, following an 8 year proprietorship of her small business, Crafty Stables. In 2006, she started driving for AA Transportation in Grafton. Every bus route she had, whether long term or short, she cherished each child in her care. Cindy had a gift of making children feel safe and comfortable.
Cindy’s closest friends and family will tell you of her penchant for feeding any living creature from the variety of birds who flocked to her feeders to the many fur babies of her own or family and friends’. Even after her favorite pup, Brie crossed the rainbow bridge, she always had a bag of treats handy for her children’s pets. She also loved to visit her daughters farm, where she never rode the horses, but fed them countless treats.
Cindy could always be found outside, doing yard work or setting up elaborate decorations for the season. Children and neighbors looked forward to her brightly lit and festive designs.
Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, April 14, in St. Gabriel the Archangel Parish, 151 Mendon St. Upton. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, April 13, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St. Upton.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in memory of Cindy to Unbound Charity www.unbound.org or Worcester County Food Bank www.foodbank.org
