UPTON - Constance Veda (Barker) Parker, 97, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006 in SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Milford, after a period of declining health. She was the widow of William L. Parker, to whom she had been devoted for over 70 years until his death in 1990.
Mrs. Parker was born in Birmingham, England, a daughter of the late Harold and Emma (Linfoot) Barker. She was educated in England and had lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Leeds, England for many years before coming to the United States in 1976. She was a resident of Upton for over 20 years until moving to SunBridge in Milford about three years ago.
A former member of the Upton Woman's Club and Trinity Episcopal Church in Milford, her favorite pastime was playing cards with friends and family.
She leaves one daughter, Carolyn Voss and her husband Richard of Upton; a sister, Myrtle Bent of Stratford-upon-Avon, England; a granddaughter, Christina Voss of Upton; and many nieces and nephews in England. A son, John Parker, died in 1951.
