Christopher R. Klein

Christopher “CK” Robert Klein, 48, of Westborough, passed away peacefully at home with family close by on Monday, October 16, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.  He is the beloved husband to Michelle (Bonacquisti) Klein.

The son of Susan (Babinsky) Klein and the late Robert Jerome Klein, Chris was born in Fairfax, VA while his father was assigned to the Pentagon. Raised in East Amherst, NY, he graduated from Williamsville East High School, was an active member of Williamsville United Methodist Church, and worked at local ski shop Ski Market with many lifelong friends. He then attended University of Michigan where he was a member of fraternity SAE and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Cellular & Molecular Biology. Chris worked at Thermo-Fischer Scientific for nearly 2 decades becoming Director of Sales.

Chris enjoyed time well spent outside with friends and family including camping in York, Maine, golfing on Hilton Head Island and in Florida, wandering Disney World, playing guitar in the backyard, accomplishing house projects, teaching his kids to ski, scuba diving the east coast, watching Buffalo Bills football, and coaching youth lacrosse and soccer in Westborough.

As a friend, husband, and father, CK-wonderful was fiercely loyal to those in his life and always had a funny word, a bright smile, and a contagious laugh at countless hosted holidays and gatherings.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by their daughter Lauren (15) and their son Christopher (12); his mother Susan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and her late partner Gary Purucker, who passed away the day after Chris; brother Andrew, his wife Anna (Vavruska) and their daughter Carolina; father-in-law Anthony and mother-in-law Thérèse Bonacquisti; sister-in-law Maria (Bonacquisti) McDermott, her husband David and their sons Christopher, Ryan and Nick; brother-in-law Michael and his wife Susan; brother-in-law Mark, many loving friends, aunts, uncles and cousins, and their “obedient” family dog Hilton.

Calling hours will be held from 9 AM to 12 Noon on Saturday, October 28, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main Street Upton, MA. A brief remembrance service will be held at 12 Noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a college fund for Lauren and Christopher. Any contributions in tribute to Chris can be sent to Lauren and Christopher Klein via Venmo @KleinLaurenAndChristopher or a check made out to Michelle Klein via mail.
