UPTON - Charles H. Zimmerman, 51, of Upton, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 after he was stricken while fishing on the west branch of the Penobscot River in Piscataquis County in Maine. A consulting engineer for municipal, industrial, water/wastewater, manufacturing, and security clients; he was the owner of Charles Zimmerman Associates of Southborough and the husband of Carey W. (Bishop) Zimmerman.
Mr. Zimmerman was born in West Hartford, CT, the son of Isabella M. (Porter) Callanan of Brookline and the late Charles H. Zimmerman, Jr. He grew up in Ashland and Brookline and then lived in West Roxbury before coming to Upton about three years ago. He was a graduate of Brookline High School and earned a mechanical engineering degree from Boston University. He was a member of the Instrument Society of America, the American Water Works Association, and the New England Water Works Association.
In addition to his wife of nearly 18 years and his mother, he leaves one daughter, Emma Zimmerman of Upton, and a sister, Laura Callanan of Pittsburgh, PA.

Following cremation, memorial service Wednesday, October 5 at 10 a.m. in
St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street, Southborough.
