CORRALES, NM - Chandler Wyman Jones, 75, of Corrales, New Mexico, died Wednesday, May 10, 2006 in Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after he was stricken while visiting friends. He was the husband of Dorine (Leger) Jones, who died in 1999 after 45 years of marriage.
Mr. Jones was born in Newton, MA, the son of the late Thomas Llewellyn and Laura Alice (Wyman) Jones. He grew up in Arlington, MA, where he graduated from Arlington High School, and was a 1958 graduate of Northeastern University. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Jones was an engineer for Honeywell in Lexington, MA for 30 years, retiring about 20 years ago. He had lived in Wayland, MA for many years before moving to New Mexico in 1992. He enjoyed collecting minerals and sharing his expertise with others. An active member of gem and mineral clubs in Boston, Albuquerque, and Tucson, and an exhibits department volunteer at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science; he was also a founding member of the Chowder and Marching Society for Distinctive Mineralogists/Explorers. He loved sailing, traveling, and the outdoors, and was an avid ham radio operator.
He leaves one son, Eric W. Jones and his wife Cheryl, and two grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua Jones, all of Upton, MA. He was also the father of the late Pamela McCormick of Fort Collins, CO, who died in 2001.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday, May 15, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Following cremation, private graveside services will be
in Mount Hope Cemetery in Acton, MA.
