Carlton Brown, 64, of Upton, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Dianne (Grignon) Brown.
Mr. Brown was born in Northbridge, a son of the late Irwin and June (Goding) Brown. He had lived in Upton for most of his life and was a 1961 graduate of Nipmuc Regional High School. The sole proprietor of the former Brown's Texaco in West Upton for 15 years, he then worked as a mechanic at Fenwal in Ashland for 22 years, retiring in 2005. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a member of the Woodville Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his wife of 31 years, he leaves three stepsons, Anthony Wood of Arizona, Tom Wood of California, and Chris Wood of Rhode Island; a brother, Brad Brown of Millbury; an aunt, Thelma Brown of Upton; an uncle, Ben Brown of Falmouth; and seven grandchildren.

Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, Upton.
