Brian G. Porter, 53, of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022, after complications from a motor vehicle accident.
Brian was born in Milford, he was a son of Ida (Stuart) Jette and the late Richard Porter. He was raised and educated in Upton.
Brian spent time in both the Army and Navy between 1986 – 1992, including one tour in Desert Storm. After his services duties he held various shipping & receiving and medical billing roles. He then followed in his grandfather Stuart’s footsteps and became an active member of the Mass Freemason Organization out of Oxford. He was proud to be one of the few active members that visited every Masonic lodge in the state.
Brian leaves behind his loving partner for the last 16 years, Jennifer Snay. He also leaves behind his mother, Ida Jette and her husband Jean Robert; a brother, Richard Porter Jr. and his wife Sherry; a step-sister, Natasha Jette and her husband Marcel; two nieces; two nephews; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 PM on Tuesday, March 22, in the Pickering & Son Upton Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton. A Masonic service will take place at 5:45 PM.
His funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday March 23, at 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Upton.
