Beverly “Bev” A. (Sabulis) Grady, 75 of Upton, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Gardner, Bev was a beautiful, caring and generous woman. She adored her family and the small-town life she established in Upton alongside her loving husband Jack. During her longtime residency in Upton, Bev and Jack built a family and created numerous friendships with kindred spirits who became beloved family members. Bev often could be found frequenting local farm stands and bakeries buying goodies to share with family and neighbors. She treasured the many memories she and her family made over the years in the close-knit community she called home.
Bev cherished her two grown children, their spouses, and her four grandchildren. She was never far from a sideline, dance recital or school event - always the first to arrive and ready to play the role of their biggest, proudest cheerleader.
An avid reader, Bev was known to easily consume multiple books each week penned by her favorite fiction writers. She enjoyed spending hours in her yard, tending to her flower gardens and directing her doting husband where to place the next plant variety she wanted to try. She loved traveling and exploring the country with Jack. Some of their more recent adventures took them on riverboat cruises to Europe, the Mediterranean, Iceland, Alaska, and bus tours to a number of National Parks.
Rarely leaving home without milkbones in her pockets, Bev and the animals in her life shared a mutual love for one another. Never saying no to a new pet, she welcomed many dogs and cats into her home over the years, and she especially will be missed by her current faithful companion Brownie.
Bev is survived by her husband of 52 years Jack Grady; her son Shaun Grady and his wife Jodie of Holden; her daughter Cathleen Haney and her husband Tim of Foxborough; four grandchildren, Maeghan, Brendan, Stephen and Erin; her brother Joseph Sabulis and his wife Patti of Gardner; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Josephine Sabulis.
To honor Beverly’s wishes, services will be private.
