Bertha M. (Boucher) Thomas, 87, of Upton, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, in St. Camillus Health Center in Northbridge after an illness. She was the wife of Reginald Cave, to whom she was married in 2000. Her first husband, Lewis J. Thomas, died in 1979.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Joseph and Albina (Pichette) Boucher. A resident of Upton since 1954, she was a correctional officer at the Women's Correctional Facility in Framingham for 13 years, retiring in 1981.
In addition to her husband, she leaves one son, William Thomas and his wife Paula Boisseau of Lancaster; two grandsons, Ian Thomas of Sturbridge and Matthew Thomas of Whitinsville; four great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Service Details
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held in the
Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton
at 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011.
Calling hours from 2 to 4 p.m. immediately preceding the service on Sunday.
