Barbara R. (Daniels) Allen

Barbara R. (Daniels) Allen, 96, of Upton and formerly of Newton Highlands, died peacefully at Countryside Health Care of Milford on Thursday, December, 29, 2016.
Beloved wife of the late Dr. Edward C. Allen and sister of the late Robert C. Daniels of Peabody, she is survived by her two sons, Charles and his wife Meryle of Upton and Robert and his wife Judy of Fairfax, VA. She was the loving grandmother of Robert, Lynne, Christopher, and Beth Allen.
Born in Melrose, MA, she was the daughter of Sidney I. Daniels and Winniford (Robinson) Daniels. Barbara graduated from Newton-Wellesley School of Nursing and spent her entire working career as an RN at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. While living in Newton Highlands, she was active in many community and hospital groups. She was a devoted member of The Newton Highlands Congregational Church and so enjoyed singing in the choir. Even though her memory diminished in the past few years, she never forgot the many wonderful years spent with family and friends at her summer home on Cape Cod.
