AVON PARK, FL - Barbara D. (Allen) Fowler, 90, of Avon Park and formerly of Upton, died July 8, 2005 in Florida after an illness. She was the wife of Theodore Fowler.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Northbridge, the daughter of the late Charles and Edith Allen. She grew up there and graduated from Northbridge High School. Upon her marriage on August 19, 1932, she moved to Upton, where she lived for 60 years until moving to Florida in 1992.
She was a homemaker, avid gardener, stone mason, and photographer. She developed black and white photos in her own dark room and created many beautiful memories of life in Upton. She also photographed extensively as she and her husband traveled throughout the U.S. during their retirement. She had been a member of the Congregational Church of Upton, a Bell Ringer, and a Cub Scout leader.
In addition to her husband of 72 years, she leaves two sons, Kenneth Fowler and his wife Joyce of Barnstable, and Glenn Fowler and his wife Eva of Upton; six grandchildren, Sherri Nagle and her husband Richard of Boxford, Kevin Fowler and his wife Mary of Shrewsbury, Wendy Dicmak and her husband Charles of Marlboro, Tye Fowler and his wife Angela of Uxbridge, Timothy Fowler of San Jose, CA, and Tania Fowler of Holyoke; eight great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Sara Nagle of Boxford, David, Debora, Abigail, and Madeline Fowler of Shrewsbury, Joseph Fowler of Uxbridge, and Reese Dicmak of Marlboro. Also, four step-grandchildren, Kellie O'Connor of Plymouth, Kimberly Forbes of Hyannis, Michael Cormier of Upton, and Michelle Goodwin and her husband Michael of Fairbanks, AK; two step-greatgrandchildren, Stephanie and Stanley Goodwin of Fairbanks, AK; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her two younger brothers, Phillip and Clayton Allen.
