Barbara M. (Baldwin) Baker, 92, of Upton, died Thursday, November 3, 2011 in her home after a period of declining health. Her husband of 57 years, Stanton T. Baker, died in 1998.
Mrs. Baker was born in Newton, a daughter of the late Ralph and Grace E. (Walden) Baldwin. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA, graduated from West Chester University of PA in 1940, and had lived in Upton since 1956. She was an art teacher in Hopedale Public Schools for 19 years, retiring in 1975. She had previously taught at several other public and private schools from 1940 to 1955 and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Upton Woman's Club. A talented artist, she taught art classes, led craft groups, and was active at the Upton Senior Center.
She leaves 5 children, Ellery Baker of Upton, Teri Corsaro of Guilford, CT, Bonnie Ross of Wentworth, NH, Susan Althaus of North Truro, and Pat Van der Linde of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Nancy Beatty of Upton; a brother, Richard Baldwin of Philadelphia; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Service Details
Private funeral services will be held from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home,
45 Main Street, Upton, with the Rev. Jan Gregory-Charpentier,
pastor of the United Parish of Upton, officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton.
