Angelo Buscemi

October 16, 1916 — September 15, 2007

Angelo Buscemi, 90, a lifelong resident of West Groton, died peacefully on September 15, 2007 at the Keystone Center in Leominster after an illness. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nellie (Mazukna) Buscemi.

Mr. Buscemi was born in West Groton on October 16, 1916, a son of the late Carlo and Antonina (Zammuto) Buscemi. He served with the 83rd Infantry of the United States Army in Europe during World War II and worked as a papermaker at the Hollingsworth and Vose Co. for 39 years. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Joseph "Mike" Onners of West Groton; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Barbara Buscemi of New Ipswich, NH; one sister, Susan Newmaire of Pepperell; five grandchildren, Dean Onners of Shirley, Karen Onners D'Agostino of Fitchburg, and Anthony, Kevin, and Andrew Buscemi of New Ipswich; and a great granddaughter, Kayla Jean Onners of Shirley. He was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph "Jody" Onners, a sister Rosalie, and brothers Ralph, Sylvio, and Joseph.
