Angela A. (Debelak) Penko, 88, of Hopedale, died Saturday evening, June 11, 2005, at her home after an illness. She was the widow of John W. Penko, who died in 1987 and to whom she was married for 46 years.
Mrs. Penko was born in Newberry, Michigan, a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Lustik) Debelak. She had lived in Akron, NY for many years before coming to Hopedale four years ago. She was a homemaker who had worked at Bell Aircraft in Buffalo during World War II. A communicant of St. Theresa's Parish in Akron, she enjoyed gardening and bird watching.
She leaves one son, J. Michael Penko of Upton; two sisters, Josephine Zuponcic of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Olga Debelak of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. Her daughter-in-law, Barbara Bonner, died in 2003. She was also the sister of the late John, Frank, Robert, Louis, William, and Raymond Debelak, Mary "Mayme" Kosher, and Emma Knaus.

Funeral services in the Holy Family Chapel of Mount Olivet Cemetery, Kenmore, NY at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16.
